15th Sep 2019 - Fishing Report w/e 15th September 2019

Another mixed week weather wise but cooler mornings have seen plenty fish moving in the margins as they chase sticklebacks in their preparation for the winter months to come, lots of fish still being taken on dries,daddiesin particular proving to be productive. Anglers have has some good sport in all levels of the water, however as the cooler weather becomes more prolific, we will begin to see some of the larger fish begin to show. Phil Green safely returned a 12lb Rainbow, which he has entered into this months TroutMasters. The North East ladies angling group visited on Sunday, most of the ladies landed at least one fish despite the strong cool wind. We also had Milline Groom fishing club visit on Sunday, 13 fish were landed between the 5 members, best fish at 4lb 3oz so all of the members had a 'good day'.

  • Bill Potter and his Granddaughter Sienna landed 4 fish using a Cats Whisker.
  • Phil Green safely released 7 fish between both lakes using Damsels and Fry imitations, including a Rainbow at 12lb
  • Brian Scrowther used Diawl Bach's and Buzzers to bring 4 fish to the net from Coe Crag
  • TrevorWaddsfrom Longframlington had 1 fish from Long Crag and 10 from Coe Crag using Dry Flies and bloodworms over two visits.
  • BrianCorkwillfrom Gateshead had a ‘Good but Hard day’ returning 12 to Coe Crag on Buzzers.
  • Patrick Scott had an ‘Excellent’ day on Coe Crag returning 2 lovely Browns and keeping 3 Rainbows for a bag weight of 8lbs using Foam Daddies.
  • Colin Smith from Gateshead returned 5 to Coe Crag using Popper Hoppers and Buzzers.
  • Ray Wood fromWestwoodburnreturned 6 to Coe Crag using Buzzers.
  • Jeff Wilson also released 6 to Coe Crag using Damsels.
  • ArnieBirchinalfrom Blyth released 7 to Long Crag using Yellow Rubber Leg Daddies.
  • JimBirtlefrom Newcastle released 10 over both lakes using a combination of Crunchers and Diawl Bach fished very slow.
  • Michael Hall returned 7 to Long Crag using Dries, Buzzers and Lures.
  • PaulHirdfrom Sunderland released 12 on Coe Crag using Buzzers.
  • Julien Bales from Wooler returned 6 to Long Crag using Dries and buzzers
