23rd Dec 2019 - Fishing Report w/e 22nd December 2019

Despite the mixture of weather conditions this week, when the temperature rose at the end of the week, there was a few fish rising and anglers catching fish just sub surface on small buzzers. Lures again have also been productive this week, with some of the large bag numbers being taken using Bunny Leach's. Cracking fish in the region of 5 - 12lb have also been landed this week. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Tight lines for 2020, from all at Thrunton Long Crag Team.

  • Don Thompson from Whitly Bay returned 7 fish to Long Crag during his two hour session, using Diawl Bach's. Don also safely released a 5lb and 10lb Rainbow.
  • David Casper from Newcastle used a Home Tied Pink Dancer to return 6 fish to Long Crag, having a 'Great Day'
  • Craster angler, Alex Ainslie used a Black Fritz to net 9 fish from Long Crag, during his four hour session.
  • Ken Glenton from Ashington netted 14 fish from Long Crag using a Bunny Leach, having a 'Good Day'
  • Cramlington angler, Ken Ward had a 'Great Time' releasing 5 fish to Long Crag using a Beadie.
  • Jim Lumsden also used a Beadie to return 5 fish to Long Crag, having a 'Good' Day
  • Bedlington angler, Mick Brown safely returned 16 fish to Long Crag using a Megs Favorite. Mick also landed a 12lb, 7lb and 6lb Rainbow.
  • Kevin Dinning returned 6 fish to Long Crag using Spiders on a ‘cold day’.
  • Joe Clarke from Alnwick released 5 and kept 2 from Long Crag using Blobs.
  • Mitch Fawcus from Blyth Returned 8 to Long Crag using Bloodworms and Lures including 2 Doubles.
  • P Embleton returned 13 to Long Crag using ‘Various Flies’.
  • Howard Croston from Morpeth returned 5 to Coe Crag using an Olive Zonker And a Black and Red Cormorant.

Please Note: Long Crag Lake will be closed on Sunday 5th January 2020, for a Competition to help raise money for the TEFF England Bank Team. Coe Crag lake will remain open as usual, and we apologies for any inconvenience caused to our regular anglers.

Festive Closing Dates - Thrunton will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day (24th, 25th and 26th December), we will also be closed on New years Eve and new Years Day (31st December and the 1st January). Following these dates we will be open as usual, we look forward to seeing you all in 2020.
