Another week of strong winds and rain has been causing havoc over the country this week anglers who braved the weather on some of the ‘calmer’ days still managed some good sport with one angler landing his first ever Tiger trout.

  • Ray Wood from West Woodburn released 8 fish to Coe Crag using Bloodworm's
  • Steve Noble from Linton usedEggstacyWorm to net 7 fish from Coe Crag
  • Ashingtonangler, KenGlentonreleased 6 fish to Coe Crag using Tungsten Bead Diawl Bach's, having a 'Good Day'
  • Neil Jones kept 4 fish from Coe Crag weighing in at 8lb 10oz, caught using Black Lures
  • LewisLongstaffaged 10 kept 3 fish from Coe Crag, with his biggest fish at 3lb also caught using Black Lures
  • Crasterangler, Alex Ainslie returned 4 fish over both lakes, caught using Black & Orange Lures
  • Danny Dixon netted 3 fish over both lakes while on holiday, he caught them using Cats Whiskers. Danny also caught his first Tiger Trout, estimated at 3lb.
  • Mick Brown from Bedlington landed 7 on Long Crag using DiawlBachs.
  • Gary Surtees released 6 on Coe Crag using various flies.

ThruntonLong Crag Spring Pairs Competition

First prize – Weekend stay (two Nights) at Bracken Cottage for four people plus fishing vouchers

Cash prizes for second and third place

Cash Prizes will also be given for the top three pairs in each heat

Heat Prizes (per pair): First £60, Second £40, Third £20

The Competition will be fished over two heats followed by the final.Heats to take place on: Saturday 29thFebruary & Sunday 15thMarch.The final will take place on: Sunday 19thApril

Maximum of 13 Pairs per heat, £30 per angler to be fished on Long Crag Lake, 6 Hour C&R,6 Pairs go through from each heat.
