24th Nov 2019 - Fishing Report w/e 24th November 2019

Some heavy frosts starting the week off, followed by milder, wet weather as the week moved on has given the anglers some slightly more challenging fishing conditions, howeveranglers that braved the weather again this week have been rewarded with some decent bag numbers. Some of the better bag numbers have been taken slightly deeper in the water column, with lures being most productive. Some more of the larger fish have been caught this week again, Well done to Colin Marshall who landed his new PB Trout, which was estimated atover 10lb.

  • Ken Ward from Cramlington used Various Lures to net 5 fish from Long Crag, having a 'Cold but very good day'.
  • Chris Cooper from Blyth used a Chamois to return 8 fish to Long Crag
  • Colin Marshall also used a Chamois to net 4 fish from Long Crag, including a new PB estimated at 10lb
  • Newcastle angler, Eric Carmichael landed 3 fish from Long Crag using Bloodworm's and Yellow Dancers, including a nice rainbow estimated at 7-8lb.
  • J. Loftus used a Yellow Dancer and Diawl Bach's to safely return 7 fish to Long Crag
  • Ashington angler, Ken Glenton returned 5 fish to Long Crag using Mini Cats and Blobs using the same flies Ken returned 14 to the same lake on Sunday including one at 14lb and one at 12lb.
  • Kev Dunn netted 9 fish during his morning session also using Blobs and Mini Cats
  • Steve Noble from Linton used Various Nymphs to return 6 fish between both lakes.
  • David Middlemast landed 10 fish from Long Crag, caught using Diawl Bach's and a Beamish Killer
  • Lee Rankin from Hadston used a Purple Buzzer and Amber Apps to return 5 fish to Long Crag. On a second visit this week Lee returned another 3 to Long Crag using a Purple Buzzer.
  • Regular angler, Mick Brown released 12 fish over both lakes using Buzzers and Lures.
  • Brian Lillie released 8 to long crag including one double figure fish using Blobs and Lures.
  • Neil Brotherton returned 6 to Long Crag using Zonkers and Buzzers.
  • Greg Lewins from Belsay released 5 on Long Crag using Apps Bloodworms and Buzzers.
