25th Aug 2019 - Fishing Report w/e 25th August 2019

The cooler water temperature has really helped the fishing as the week has progressed, anglers have had some great sport on or near the surface. Early Morningsand late afternoons have been the most productive time to be fishing. Fry Imitationshave also taken some good numbers of fish this week, with patterns like Appetizersand Mini Cats being most successful. Diawl Bach's have produced some good sized fish this week, with two anglers keeping four fish each for in excessesof 14lb.
  • Ponteland angler, Duncan Passmore returned 4 fish to Long Crag using both Dries and Wets
  • Jim Smith from Blyth used CDC's to safely release 4 fish also to Long Crag
  • Regular angler, Trevor Wadds from Longframlington used Lures and Diawl Bach's near the surface to land 17 fish from Long Crag over two days.
  • Brian Strong from Lesbury enjoyed his fishing lesson with Angling Coach Steve McCann, he landed 2 fish using Daddies and missed a few more
  • Vaghn Hemy landed 4 fish for 14lb 4oz using Diawl Bachs from Coe Crag
  • David Ewart also used Diawl Bachs to keep 4 fish for 14lb 6oz, his best fish being a 5.12lb Rainbow
  • Mick Brown from Bedlington used Damsels to safely return 1 fish to Long Crag having a 'good day'
  • Kevin Richardson used Daddies and Shipmans to safely release 4 fish to Coe Crag during an Evening session

We will be holding a Junior Competition for children aged 13 and under on Friday 30th August, the competition will run from 6.00pm to 8.00pm so please arrive for registration at 5.30pm. Prize giving will be from 8.00pm onward. To Book please email or ring the fishery on 01665 574400.
Coe Crag lake will be closed from 6pm for two hours, to run the junior competition, apologies for any inconvenience caused.
