3rd Sep 2017 - Fishing Report w/e 3rd September 2017

Cooler temperatures through the night towards the end of the week has led to some excellent fishing with some larger rainbows and browns beginning to show. It has been a busy week at Thrunton with another successful CAST starter session with coach Steve McCann. Please keep an eye on the Junior section of the website for future events. We held a very competitive Junior/Adult competition where the youngsters showed the seniors how to fish! We had 10 Juniors fishing with their chosen partners in an end of season competition. It was a great evening with Charlie and Dave Cookson taking first place thanks to young Charlie's catches. Jack Metcalf and Willie Emery were second and the all Junior pair of Matty Wilkinson and Joseph Graham came a very commendable third. A big thank you to David Millican for the excellent box of flies he kindly tied for the winning Junior and to The Compleat Angler for donating prizes- very much appreciated. We once again welcomed the veterans from the Fishing for Heroes charity they were expertly coached by Lucy Bowden and Andy Richmond and a good day was had by all.
