6th Jan 2020 - Fishing Report w/e 5th JANUARY 2020

Mid week both of our lakes had a well deserved two days rest, however after reopening a couple of days of strong winds made casting rather difficult.Lures and Apps Bloodworm's proved to be most successful. Kevin Dunn from Newcastle landed a magnificent double figured Rainbow from Long Crag at the beginning of the week.

We held a TEFF England Bank Team Fundraiser this week, we had 26 anglers fishing on Long Crag, Gareth Tilly won the best bag from the morning session, Thrunton junior Ryan Foggon landed the first fish of the day plus best fish of the morning. Dawn Dixon took the prize for the ladies in the morning session. anglers who also received cash and prizes for the afternoon session were Brian Davis first fish of the afternoon, Sue Mcgilgry first fish landed by a lady, Pauline Godward top lady angler, Josh Piper Heaviest fish and Jed Armstrong for the best brag hand Over £200 was raised for the Bank Team, which will help cover clothing costs for their visit to Ireland this year. many thanks to team manager Lee Cartmail for oganising the event.

  • Ken Ward from Cramlington used a Beadie to return 4 fish to Long Crag, having a 'Cold but great day'
  • David Casper from Newcastle used Various Lures to return 5 fish to Long Crag.
  • Ashington angler, Ken Glenton used Buzzers to net 5 fish from Long Crag having a 'Good day'
  • Lee Mooney returned 16 fish over his two visits this week, caught using Cats Whiskers and Apps Bloodworms.
  • Neil Punshon used Blobs and Buzzers to release 11 fish to Long Crag, having the best sport in the final hour before darkness.
  • Martin Fearton netted 6 fish from Coe Crag also using Blobs and Buzzers
  • Bill McCarroll from Morpeth Returned 1 and kept 4 for 10lb 15oz from Long Crag using Cats Whiskers and Diawl Bachs.
  • Mick Brown from Bedlington returned 7 to Long Crag including a ‘Beautiful 14.8lb Rainbow’ using Buzzers.
  • Ken Glenton from Ashington returned 8 to Coe Crag using Black Buzzers.
  • Kevin Dinning returned 6 over both lakes using various flys.
  • Stu Ward from Westerhope had great sport returning 10 to Coe Crag using Black Lures and Shammys.
  • David Mcnally returned 7 to Long Crag using Diawl Bach and Fluffcats.
