5th May 2019 - Fishing Report w/e 5th May 2019

A week of some warm days and cool nights has led to some prolific hatches of midge, olives and sedges. Imitative fishing and ‘matching the hatch ‘hasbeen very productive for some and frustrating for others. It was really good to see so many Hawthorn flies in large numbers around the lakes .Most of the action has been had on dries enabling some great top of the water sport …….very small flies proving very successful. Some good numbers of fit strong overwintered fish have been brought to the net causing much comment from visiting anglers. The Norham and Ladykirk angling club had an excellent day’s fishing with all 13 members landing fish.
